The drive is said to be haunted by a man in an Ulster and a monk, although could it be one of the same? There are also stories of a phantom coach and four. Locals believe that a manservant murdered the cook and dragged her body down the drive.

 

The house was once owned by the Sherry importers Williams and Humbert and it is also said that a night watchman there had such a scare he had a heart attack after seeing a figure in the house, and hearing the sound of chains being rattled and local legend says that the room this happened in was bricked up. There were also reports of the ghost of a woman in the attic and a phantom face at a window.
